We have a computerised repeat prescription service. Repeat prescriptions are normally for patients with long-term conditions who receive regular treatment. Your doctor will decide who can have a repeat prescription. From time to time we will ask you to see your doctor (or nurse) to review your medication. We do this to monitor your illness and medication.
You can ask for a repeat prescription: by calling into the surgery when the reception is open; by post; by fax; or leaving your repeat request form at the surgery. Wherever possible please give the exact drug names when ordering. Please allow at least 48 hours before collection at the dispensary (if you are a dispensing patient) or at a pharmacy.
Please note we cannot take telephone requests for repeat prescriptions because of the possibility of error.
We are now able to accept online repeat requests through Patient Access via the link at the top of this page. You will need to register for this service with the practice, but once registered you can order your medication on line or through an App in a safe and secure manner
Please allow the normal 48 hours before collecting your medication, collecting after 14:00
For our dispensing patients we offer a free home delivery service. For details about this please contact the dispensary or the reception.
If you think you may need a prescription medicine, please make an appointment with the doctor. Our practice nurse can also issue prescriptions for common ailments. If you have previously been given a prescription for a straightforward condition, such as hay fever, we may be able to issue a prescription after a telephone consultation. Please ask the receptionist.
Your local pharmacist should be able to give you advice for non-prescription medication. We are allowed to dispense medication to patients who live in rural areas, or more than a mile from the nearest chemist. If you don't qualify for this service you must take your prescriptions to one of the community pharmacies. Ask us about registering for our dispensing service if you think you qualify
You should ask to speak to the dispensary first, they are aware of the items that they can issue as an emergency prescription. If they cannot help you they may suggest that you arrange to have a telephone conversation with a doctor.
